Betty J. (Schlagenshauser) Chance

Betty J. Chance, 88, passed away on March 3, 2024 at her residence. Betty was born in Akron to Joseph and Daisy Schlagenshauser and was an area resident all her life. She worked at P.I.E. Trucking and retired from Universal Tire Molds. Betty was a member of Valley Community Church in Doylestown and enjoyed traveling and going gambling with her husband. Preceded in death by her husband James; daughter Cindy Greathouse; parents Joseph and Daisy; brothers George and Joe; and step-son Wayne; Betty is survived by her children Brenda (Darrell) Dillon, John Chance, Jay (Nicole) Chance and Margi (Dan) Gurley; numerous grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Calling Hours for Betty will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Silva-Hostetler Funeral Home, 1199 Wooster Rd. West, Barberton. Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Pastor Daryl Paris officiating. Burial at East Liberty Cemetery.
